At the end of May 2026, Julien will connect Liège to Brussels by running and walking, then immediately take on the 20 km of Brussels. One clear goal: raise €100,000 to support the fight against homelessness together with Street Nurses.
Turning hardship into commitment
During a shift in the emergency department of Saint-Pierre Hospital, Julien was the victim of a serious knife attack. He came dangerously close to the worst. And once again, he faced the extreme precariousness that is increasingly present in our hospitals and on our streets.
But one thing never changed: the desire to keep helping, the desire to keep acting, and the choice to turn this experience into movement.
The “Step by step to a home” challenge
A sporting, symbolic and collective challenge:
- Connect Liège to Brussels by running and walking
- Immediately follow with the 20 km of Brussels
- Raise €100,000 for Street Nurses
Every kilometre is a tribute: to those who are living without a home today, and to everyone who stands alongside them and keeps looking for solutions. No one should have to move forward alone— not in life, not on the streets.
Why Street Nurses?
Julien worked with Street Nurses. He saw firsthand what the Housing First approach can achieve: giving people experiencing homelessness access to a stable home first, and from there rebuilding stability and dignity.
Today, the number of people without a home continues to rise— on the streets and in our healthcare services. Looking away is no longer an option. We need to act.
Goal: €100,000
Behind every euro, there is a concrete step towards lasting housing. With €100,000, Street Nurses can strengthen outreach work and continue providing medical, psychological and social support to people without a home.
What your support makes possible
- €15: meals and drinks for 5 patients
- €30: professional gear for an outreach worker
- €40: essential care supplies for one week
- €75: move-in costs for a patient
- €250: one outreach round with two staff members (4 to 6 people met)
Join the route
This challenge isn’t only Julien’s. It belongs to all of us. You can join him for part of the route between Liège and Brussels—walking or running a few kilometres. You don’t need to be an athlete—just willing to share a moment and send a strong message together.
Through the form, you can choose your segment and distance. Depending on availability, you can also request a place for the 20 km of Brussels (limited number of spots).
