Mr T.*, 65, lived isolated in a tent for years. Suffering from psychological problems, he was so disconnected from reality that his hygiene had become appalling. Moving with him was quite an epic journey because his smell was unbearable and his behaviour could be problematic. We were even told: "You will never be able to put him in housing".

As Mr T. sometimes reacted like a child, we put a framework and conditions in place so that we could take action.

We told him: "The others don't believe you will succeed".

This sentence bore fruit: he took it as a challenge.

After a lot of work on his hygiene, which had a positive impact on his psyche, he finally found decent housing.

Today, he proves that he is able to take care of himself and his environment. Indeed, he has bought a wide range of household products, his apartment is always very clean, the garbage is out, the laundry is washed.

Mr T. had the impulse. "You see," he told us proudly on our last visit to his dashing apartment.

This reinforces our belief that getting off the street is possible for everyone!
