Our nurse Eva tells us the passionate story of Mrs P. and Mr T., while she was taking her first steps by Streetnurses. Her work began with marauding in the city streets and she was quickly led to follow a couple whose would turn out to be anything except ordinary...

An endearing couple

This couple had something irresistible, despite the many challenges that separated Mr. and Mrs. Every day, the team was on the warpath to help them, because they solicited her tirelessly.

Then, one day, an opportunity arose. Mr T.'s family, who was living in the Netherlands, proposed them a "housing" plan. Without really knowing what would happen, they decided to leave.

We still kept in touch with them after they left. But months went by, and the team continued its work with other patients without knowing if they would come back.

Back in the capital

Then, against all odds, we got a call. Indeed, Mrs. P. contacted us in a hurry because she was back in Brussels. The situation had changed: she had broken up with her partner and things were going very badly.

She was on her own, staying temporarily at Transit and then in a hotel. But fate had reserved a surprising turning point in her story: a housing had become available.

Housing, but not only...

At the end, things came very quickly together. The housing was immediately available and she was able to move in without delay. We resumed her follow-up, but she missed one thing: her former partner. After ten years of living together and because they had gone through many difficult stages, she decided to get back in touch with him.

Still in the Netherlands, far away and despite pressure from his family, Mr. T. decided to return to Brussels to rejoin her.

Reunion

When they met again, they hugged each other, they were very close. It was super emotional and all the love they had for each other had come out. It was “really beautiful!” says Eva.

They ended up moving in together and are, at the moment, still very much in love. This reunion were a perfect example that, even in the most difficult situations, you can get away with a little hope and love.

Does it affect you too?
