Today, Mrs. V.* has moved into an apartment!

Quite an adventure! After two failed attempts, here we are.

Madame V. is a patient who is a bit in her bubble. Her reality is not always ours, and vice versa.

So we try to be creative, to get out of the frame, and to adapt to her.

That's what Housing First is all about!

This morning, we went to pick her up at the CPAS. It's the only place where we're pretty sure we'll find her. Because she likes to walk around the four corners of Brussels very much. It's not always easy to follow her...

We then suggested her to visit her possible future home with us. Madam was surprised but agreed to follow us.

We went around the furnished apartment, it seemed to please her. She signed the few necessary papers, we gave her the key, and a new adventure could begin!

We then took a moment to prepare her bed, went to do some small errands to fill the fridge and discover the neighborhood.

She then thanked us and asked us to buy a phone card.

Great, that will make it easier to reach her.

The end of homelessness is possible!

(*) We make every effort to respect the privacy of our patients and our professional secrecy. Nevertheless, we want to bear witness to how they must survive and how we work together to reintegrate them. Consequently, the names of places and people are deliberately omitted or modified and lived situations are placed in another context. Does our work touch you? Would you like to help us?
